Back in March, I posted about a preacher in Ohio claiming to be one of the end time prophets that the Book of Revelations talks about.
Well, our friendly prophet has informed us that a nuclear weapon will go off in the United States, some time between June 1st, and July 16th.
I guess my big question is: if a nuclear weapon actually does go off in the U.S., will you be convinced this guy is legit?
In his favor, he is giving a very specific time frame, and a very large event.
Against his favor, some of his past predictions haven’t come true exactly as he has stated (nor exactly as the Bible has stated). But there is a little bit of wiggle room if he really wanted to make the case.
Either way… this prediction is pretty substantial. And we don’t have to wait too long to see if it’s true or not! Place your bets.

Mmm, this reminds me of the guy in the 1800s who lead a cult that believed the rapture was coming on a specific date in march of (I think) 1886. He had a pretty loyal band of followers and had no problem selling special “rapture robes”, clean white linens,that his followers could wear as they stood on a hillside waiting to ascend into heaven with him (of course, you could only make these stylish linens yours a moderate price).
Well, the date of the supposed rapture came around–nothing happened, as is evident by our existence today. His followers were disappointed, but he claimed, “after rechecking his calculations”, that the rapture would come the next year, around the same time. Next year, date rolls around, he sells more rapture robes…no rapture. I think he repeated this one more time before his followers got pissed off and burnt his house down or something.
I have a feeling this is just another case of an age-old problem with outrageous Christian sects; loud-mouth apocalyptic pastors who won’t STFU.

You know what’s the funniest thing in all these predictions? People’s reactions - I mean, most of people say “Oh, this will be cool” :).
I’m not very experienced in premonitions, predictions and visions but I think I had enough of them to know that having a premonition is one thing, but interpreting it is another.

I vote no; just look at the year 2000 stuff. And there are always people who say this every year right??
On a side note, I did have a precognitive dream a couple weeks ago involving something happening to me on July fifth, but it was more isolated and definitely did not involve a nuclear weapon. Plus I am in Canada, so…
I personally don’t think that there is anything to worry about. I guess only time will tell!

I doubt it’s going to happen, I hope it’s not going to happen, but it might.
If it does, then yes, I will be convinced that what he’s talking about is right.
If it does happen, then it will be the Russians probably.
I hope that all this talk doesn’t actually encourage anyone to blow off a nuke, though…

I don’t think any country would shoot at us, I more think it would be accidental, like from inside the country. They do have a ton of nukes that could “accidentally” go off…

If it does happen I’d say it’d be around 4th of July, just because that’s when us filthy americans like to blow stuff up for fun, and either one of us will do it (for lulz or less more than likely) or the “terrorists” will think of it as a symbolic date (like 911)….and now that I think of it when it happens I think I should be the first to blame McCain and say that its a conspiracy to get us to stay in the war.

If it’s Ronald Weinland you’re talking about, he is from a cult evangelist church in the USA and factions of his church promote child abuse, emotional torture and in general, extremely unchristian and inhumane practices. google his name, and a website caled “painful truth” to find out about certain followers of his so called religion.
He has since retracted his statement about anything happening by today, July 16th, and has used whatever licence it is that his (seemingly Alzheimer ridden) God has permitted him. Very scary but not because of Armageddon, I reckon ten minutes with these guys and you’d be begging for the end of the world pronto.
